demolision

you’ve got to love that feast for your eyes

saturdays

I like wandering around.

Especially buildings like this.

Especially on a grey day.

this time

sheffield

on our this is england tour. sweet

crumble

bramley apple and yorkshire bramble crumble = treat. ONLY when eaten with custard. ice cream would do only in a custard shortage

chocolate cake

cake

125 g dark chocolate

 3 tbsp milk

150 g butter

150 g caster sugar

 eggs

200 g plain flour

1 tbsp good quality cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda

chocolate butter icing

75 g butter

1 tbsp cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

 175 g icing sugar

1 tbsp good quality cocoa powder

i love brownies but the cost of that much chocolate makes them a rare occasion. this recipe is not as expensive as most chocolate cakes and very yummy. I decorated it with white chocolate buttons, but you could really go to town with plenty of other decoration ideas.

tip: you are meant to leave it in for 25 minutes at gas mark 6 but I find less is better (and melt more chocolate into it !!hehe)

ode to the mundane

tasty

These are officially the tastiet carrots I’ve ever had.

Not to mention how pretty they look in a bunch (even when covered in mud!).

home sweet home

i never realised how much i love the colour blue

£2.50, and wall mountable

more ladybird

I bought a story book ‘The Wise Robin’, worth a read

and

‘Birds and how they live’

So i remember reading them when I was a kid, but this is different. I was never aware of the non-fiction categories, never mind the condensed form in which they limit subjects to a few pages. They fascinate me and, of course, amuse.

These few i bought because I am bird mad. Much better illustration than my own, they fall into the drawn category of bird books which are very popular but are often of little accuracy.
